Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) has been in operation for more than twenty years and became a Public Limited institution in July 2009.
The primary objective of KMC is to provide quality medical education within a modern academic environment, producing qualified professionals who contribute to society with their knowledge, skills, and professionalism. KMC follows a student-centered curriculum that is community- and problem-based, while also setting new standards in medical education and healthcare.
KMC places strong emphasis on affordable, quality nursing education, aiming to produce competent and socially accountable nurses.

KMC is affiliated with Kathmandu University (KU) and recognized by the Nepal Nursing Council (NNC). Admissions are conducted annually in August with approval from KU and NNC.
The B.Sc. Nursing program is now in its 14th year and has already produced 10 batches with 222 graduates, achieving a 100% pass rate in KU final examinations.
To be eligible, candidates must:
Have completed 3 years of Certificate Level Nursing from a recognized institute with at least 50% aggregate marks.
Have at least one year of clinical or teaching experience after completing the certificate nursing course.
Be registered with Nepal Nursing Council.
Based on Kathmandu University entrance examination followed by counseling.
Candidates are selected strictly on the basis of merit.
