Detection of Liver Disease
How is it done?
FibroScan uses a probe placed on the skin over the liver to send painless vibrations that measure liver stiffness and fat content.
Preparation
Patients may be asked to fast for a few hours. Wear loose clothing for easy probe placement.
During Test
The probe is applied to the upper abdomen. The machine sends vibrations and collects measurements. The process is quick, usually taking 10–15 minutes.
Post-Treatment
No recovery is needed. The doctor reviews the results to assess liver condition and guide treatment.
