Mammogram Procedure
A mammogram uses low-dose X-rays to create detailed images of the breast by gently compressing it between two plates for a short time.
Preparation
Avoid using deodorant or powders before the test, as they may appear on the image. Wear a two-piece outfit for convenience.
During Mammogram
The breast is placed on a flat plate and gently pressed to spread the tissue. X-rays are taken quickly, usually within 20 minutes.
Post-Treatment
No recovery is needed. Some mild discomfort may be felt, but normal activities can be continued. Results are reviewed by the doctor later.
