Under Graduate Program

MBBS Program is of four-and-a-half years, with a one-year compulsory internship after passing the university Final Examination. The four-and-a-half years MBBS course is divided into 9 semesters of 6 months each. The core curriculum for the MBBS program shall be composed of the following pre-clinical and clinical departments.

The first four semesters are devoted to the study of preclinical Science. Disciplines of Preclinical sciences are Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology and Pharmacology, Community Medicine. The students are also introduced to clinical knowledge and skills with a subject o Introduction to Clinical Sciences.

The teaching-learning activities in community Medicine conducted from the first through the seventh semester. The Clinical Sciences subjects are taught from fifth to Ninth Semester. The teaching-learning experiences in Forensic Medicine, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology-Head are done in the Sixth and Seventh semesters. The Subjects of Medicine and Allied Subject, Surgery and Allied Subjects, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics are taught from fifth to the ninth semester,

Internship:- Compulsory Resident Posting

Upon successful completion of the final year, students will undergo a 1 year compulsory residential rotating internship.

After successful completion of the internship, the university will award the candidate the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

ELIGIBILITY FOR NATIONAL STUDENTS

Students may contact KMC for forms, prospectus or other details. Resident Nepali and foreign students will have to take Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination and admissions are strictly according to the merit.

The candidates eligible for admission should have:

  1. Passed 10+2 Science (Biology Group) or Equivalent securing at least 50% separately in

Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% aggregate in total marks OR

Secured at least C+ grade separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least C

grade in remaining individual subjects along with GPA 2.4 OR

Secured the Percentage equivalent to above eligibility in regards to the certificate level

programs (A-Level) with different grading system

OR

  1. Applicants who have passed the Health Science Proficiency Certificate Level /Diploma

(General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science,

Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Radiography, Physiotherapy) with Certificate of Equivalence to

Grade 12 Science program from National Examination Board AND

  1. Secured at least 50% separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% aggregate

in total marks both in Diploma and the Examination for Equivalence AND

  1. Registered in Nepal Health Professional council or Nepal Pharmacy Council or Nepal

Ayurveda Council as per related educational program.
