General Practice and Emergency
MESSAGE FROM HOD
"

Welcome to the Department of General Practice and Emergency Medicine at Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital.

This department is committed to providing patient centered efficient care.

At Emergency Department (ED), patients are presented at any time with multiple problems without diagnosis and appropriate information. We need to see patients immediately as they present to the Emergency Department and monitor them throughout their ED course until the disposition. So, compared to other specialties, emergency care is considered to be a high-pressure and fast-paced department that requires a multi-disciplinary team with broad knowledge, clinical experience and technical skills.

Our team takes up the challenge to carry out the rapid and proper diagnosis in the first few minutes of the patient’s arrival to establish a successful treatment at our hospital.

Our nursing staff are excellent.

Support personnel are very dedicated.

The Department is proud to be the center of a bright and energetic faculty who provide academic and clinical expertise in the areas of acute care, toxicology, resuscitation and medical education.

I am proud to lead our department in achieving its mission of delivering outstanding emergency care for our patients through excellence in clinical care, education, research and innovation.
